Gathering Wave
03:04
|
|||
Winter wind is coming in the west door
running streams are running to the lakeshore
flying geese are pictures in the western sky
find a place for your smiling face
don't lose your ways in the coming of days
keep your head straight and listen to your heartbeat's pace
we're all out here looking for something
maybe for a place where the music's bumping
wouldn't it be something if we danced the night away?
change has come
it's knocking at my window
I'm standing in the middle of somewhere
doing my best just to be here
to stand up straight on the gathering wave
and roll roll roll into someday
I've got a shield and its a good defense
when I'm lacking my innocence
when the evidence is just too much
I'm taking a picture of the northern sky
I'm memorizing my alibi
so that when I die I'll have the story straight
Change has come it's knocking at my window
I'm standing in the middle of somewhere
doing my best just to be here
to stand up straight on the gathering wave
and roll roll roll into someday

Landscapes of your Soul
04:27
|
|||
Landscape of Your Soul
I look in your eyes to see the light that shines like a thousand diamonds
it's keeping me well informed of the landscape of your soul
If ever the time should come that you need a place to pour yourself out
I can make my heart safe
for your Treasure
Sometimes I feel I came here like a fool convinced of a magic trick
I look for an easy phrase to explain away my mind's confusion
I find myself staring out towards the rolling clouds of an endless sky
and back into my mind's eye
where my Treasure lies
Turn me towards the right way home
If I stray then let me know
All I want is to believe
I'm looking for the timeless remedy
I'm looking for my true identity
I look in your eyes to see the light that shines like a thousand diamonds
it's keeping me well informed of the landscape of your soul
Turn me towards the right way home
If I stray then let me know
All I want is to believe
I'm looking for the timeless remedy
I'm looking for my true identity

Listen to the Wind Blow
04:25
|
|||
Mary are you watching are you praying over me?
lately I've been hesitating, I've been busy meditating
on the end of all my suffering
on the end of all my loving
to step outside
with open eyes
and open ears
listen to the wind blow
listen to the water flow
I don't know how to say it
but I keep on playing for it
trying to do my best
that I stay equanimous
ride the waves of every ocean
ride the surface of the ocean
to step out side
with open eyes
and open ears
listen to the wind blow
listen to the water flow
seeing you out walking on the water
picking from the petals of the lotus flower
been a little while since I've seen my centre
when's it gonna be that you let me enter
and now I'm driving by ocean side
watching the scenes of my life
rolling by
rolling by
rolling by
ya ya ya
I
get on the road its early morn
I gotta go
I gotta go
I gotta go gotta go gotta go
step outside
with open eyes
and open ears
listen to the wind blow
listen to the water flow

Kairos, Kairos
Everything is timing
Kairos, Kairos
everything is time
sunshine in my eyes
tickles me
make me sneeze
sunshine in my mind
tickles me makes me sneeze
wind through my hair
Earth on my feet

wind blows heavy on my hand
I am swept across the land
like the blowing stones and sand
I am shaped and shaped again
if I reach a higher plane
will I soon forget the pain
some things lost are some things gained
in these blowing winds of change
somethings grow and some things fold
some things show and some things don't
we are living out the patterns of our life
I am standing in the sun
in the shadow of my gun
Oh I ---- infinity plays with the sands of time
in the sunshine's gifted gaze
I am sandstone taking shape
sculpted by these very days
til my skull is all remains
light carves shadows on the stone
as my hand begins a song
patterns played upon these strings
turn to notes the singer sings
some things grow and some things fold
some things show and some things don't
we are living out the patterns of our life
I am standing in the sun
in the shadow
Oh my God
Infinity plays with the sands of time
and I've been stranded in this city
I've been branded in this city
I come open handed to this city
cause there's got to be a way

Child On Parade
03:19
|
|||
by C.D. Onofrio
evening lays her head
across a bright red sky
slowly she then drops her dress
says, “honey don’t be shy”
I just stand and wave
like a child on parade
and dig my feet into the sand
as deep as they will take
it's gonna be a long time
feeling strong time
feeling that the deeper that the well goes
the deeper that the roots, roots are gonna go
I don’t even know, I don’t even know
out at the saloon
they're dancing on their chairs
the singer pours his heart out
spills it everywhere
i’m naked on the beach
underneath my clothes
i listen as the waves play
rhythms on my toes
it’s gonna be a long time...
hey there grandma moon,
is that a wink I see?
remember when you told that joke
i laughed so hard i peed
the stars are playing dice
and asking me to play
they know i’m not a gambling man
but what else could i say
it’s gonna be a long time

California Redwood Song
05:28
|
|||
here we go on a winding road/ where nobody knows/ the forest grows/ i press my nose against the window/ from sitting under the tree/ to running cross the country/ trying to be free/ where u.r.me
i will not cut you down/ i will help you to stand tall/ underneath the ground/ we're connected through this all
now i cant trace my roots/ i dont know whee im from/ but i know who i am/ what will i become
i met a redwood/ as old as islam/ it told me i could grow tall/ even though my roots are shallow
the tree of life know/ in what will follow/ the music still flows/ the music will keep playing
i talk to death at the side of the mountain/ the miserable mound of the skeleton fountain/ these are the words that death returns
the god of death is the lord of the dance
skeleton hands write my epitaph
your skeleton army, does not alarm me.

Peace in the Grace
06:46
|
|||
fixtures and friendships
these things are blessed
angel, my weakness
are these things when not said
Cause what`s worse than too find that these words that I write
are all lies and mean only nothing
These days are filled with
silence and asides
fill me to find out
what this love is about
cause what's worse than to find
that these wars that we fight
are all lies and we die for nothing
I found peace in the Grace
I forgave the mistakes
I forged tools out of chains
and I am not scared to change
friendships and fixtures
these things are absurd
fill me to find out
what this life is about
cause what's worse than to find
that God's words were all lies
and your eyes they stare out at nothing?
I found peace in the Grace
I forgave the mistakes
I forged tools out of chains
and I am not scared to change
and I remember Gethsemane
and I will pray for the enemy.

I found the moon
03:19
|
|||
a signal from the moon, I must've imagined cause it winked at me and blew a kiss my way, a star dust kiss that fell like glitter in the night and it tasted like this, like cherry, fresh off the tree on a summer's eve, it was sweet like you're sweet, the kind of sweet that lingers, lick it off your fingers, i say finder's keepers
i found the moon tonight, hiding in your sunlight, i found the moon tonight
but i know better now, i know to let it go. I know better now to let it go
the trees wave their hands at me as i start my day, starting up my car, go real far, finish up a job, then i come home in the afternoon --- sitting in my living room, without a single thing to do, started writing you a poem, then i put it in my pocket, then i forgot what it said cause it left my head
but when i lay down to bed, i'll recite it by heart, i'll recite it like a piece of art, for an old friend, something that'll never end.

The Great Divide
05:36
|
|||
I'm seeing you on the road with me dancing into this eternal beat, with the magic we're creating guess I got my mind preparing a song to sing when the raven brings my spirit to the sky. learn to let me fly. learn to let me die. We will see that love is on our side.

These Mountains
05:07
|
|||
Spirit Wolf
when the fire in your heart seems to flicker like a circuit with a short
and the critic in your mind rips your pieces like a professor of the arts
when you can’t say where your pay is coming from day to day, day to day
When you can’t tell if the mountain behind or the mountain in front makes more sense to climb
we go dancing in these mountains
And these mountains, dance with us
spirit wolf is watching as we move
when the bottle or the pill, or the pipe makes more sense than confessions of the church
when you can’t tell the forest from the trees lining the highways maple, elm and birch
when all you have is a feather of faith and you float it down a mountain stream like a prayer
when all your lost loved ones, daughters and sons, and every moment makes you wish that they were there
we go dancing in these mountains
And these mountains, dance with us
spirit wolf is watching as we move
when the wind blows through your soul like the melody of an old familiar song
when you take a deep breathe and you gather yourself and find the strength to carry on
when the destination is a million miles away and the journey is day by day, day by day
when there’s nothing else to say.
we go dancing in these mountains
And these mountains, dance with us
we go dancing in these mountains
And these mountains, dance with us
spirit wolf is watching as we move

the stars in the western sky shine bright tonight
I am walking through the desert under starlight
and I walk for miles and miles
I see you Jeremiah, down in Hollywood
trying to make it good
on the boulevard with the stars
in the western sky
and I walk for miles and miles and miles
